i'd heard about the new panaderia (mexican bakery) at 11th & g and wondered if they were open sundays-- and the answer is yes, open from 10-6. these cream cheese and jalapeno stuffed rolls are only a dollar each! and the grocery store on the block does sell the sunday times.
these rolls are the only thing i've tried from the place, but they have a wide selection of traditional panaderia sweets... at traditional budget prices.

Oh my goodness, those look fantastic. I'll be heading that way soon, I'm sure...
How was it? They look really good.
Everything in that bakery is FANTASTIC! I'm a transplant from Arizona and everything this bakery sells is delicious and authentic. The raspberry cake roll they sell tastes exactly like a raspberry zinger!
they were good. had six or eight jalapeno slices in each, maybe an ounce of cream cheese. warmed them up in the toaster oven before serving. after two bites into one, i sliced it open and filled it with some sliced roast beef that i had in the fridge. that will be a future post i'm sure.
