mad cheap: tired produce at open harvest

i'd heard that open harvest was putting out bags of "tired" (read: "one day left to use") produce at a discounted price. i never thought i'd get a bag of sweet and hot peppers for $1.27. the cashier seemed pretty surprised, too; so i think i was in the right bargain bin at the right time. other bags yesterday had squash, eggplants, bananas, pears, and apples.

open harvest is in the process of expanding its physical space as well. stop in and check it out. the bulk section (one of my favorite parts of the store) has been moved to the west side of the interior. i think that's temporary.
